Our Mission
Zara’s House was founded in Newcastle in 2016 to support women rebuilding their lives after war, displacement, and migration. Through education, social connection, and practical training, we help women grow in confidence and independence.
Our programs include language education, financial skills, micro-enterprise development, creative workshops, and community events that celebrate culture and belonging.

Our flagship fundraising event, Zara’s House Food Fest, brings the Newcastle community together through food, culture, and celebration.
The festival showcases authentic cuisine from cultures represented at Zara’s House and provides opportunities for women from our programs to share their food, crafts, and entrepreneurial talents.

The 2026 event aims to welcome 1,000 attendees and raise $50,000 to support our work.
