Our Members
Zara’s House is sustained by the members of Refugees and Partners Inc, a not-for-profit organisation formed in 2015 and active in Jesmond since 2016. Our members support refugees and asylum seekers through friendship, advocacy, and practical involvement.
Membership reflects a broad range of contributions. Executive members participate in governance and planning, while others assist with programs, contribute financially, or engage with local networks supporting refugee settlement. All members are encouraged to stay informed about Australian immigration matters and to respond compassionately to those affected by change.

Volunteer at Zara’s House
Volunteering is a meaningful way to support women and families as they settle into life in Australia. By becoming both a member and volunteer, you join a network of people dedicated to compassion, connection, and community.
We are currently seeking volunteer teachers (including English, Arabic, Farsi, Dari and other languages), child minders, and general volunteers who can assist with events and help care for our centre through tasks such as gardening, cleaning, and minor repairs.
If you would like to volunteer, simply complete the membership form below and select “I want to Volunteer at Zara’s House” to access the additional volunteer questions.
